Designer
mencke&vagnby is the design duo Karina Mencke (1977) and Marcus Vagnby (1981). They met at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, where they developed both a romantic and professional partnership. In time, they founded Studio mencke&vagnby. The couple question everything - each other, the design and the process - and they both believe that by asking questions they create the development that provides a usable, functional and aesthetic product. Their design arises through a unique creative process, where the duo asks questions, tests ideas and reveals an understanding of both the past and the present. They design timeless, high-quality products because this extends the product's life cycle - and helps protect the environment and our planet. Their designs are sustainable with well-thought-out user-friendliness, aesthetics and choice of materials.
